Ron Naus Promoted President at BK Lighting and TEKA Illumination

Madera, CA – Tuesday, November 13, 2012 – Douglas W. Hagen has promoted Ronald S. Naus to the position of President at B-K Lighting + Teka Illumination.  Naus assumed his new role effective November 12, 2012.

“I’ve known Ron for almost 20 years, first as the principal of a dynamic, independent manufacturer’s representative,” said Hagen.  “As our sales agent, he was a primary catalyst to our rapid sales growth in the late 1990’s and I knew he would multiply those efforts here,” he continued.

Naus, who joined B-K Lighting in 2001, has assumed progressive management responsibilities within the organization, first as National Sales Manager, then V.P. Sales and Marketing, and for the past two years as Executive Vice President for both companies.  In that time, the company has continued to expand globally, affirming its position as the product of choice within the outdoor landscape and architectural lighting communities.  Naus help facilitate the acquisition of Teka Illumination in 2005, and has been instrumental in positioning the company as a key market driver in solid state lighting technology over the past eight years.

Mr. Hagen will retain his position as CEO and Founder.  The move frees him to devote more of his time to personal and other business interests, placing the daily management and strategic plan of the companies with Naus.

“Joining B-K Lighting in 2001 was the best business decision I’ve ever made,” said Naus.  “These past twelve years have just flown by.  Doug has shown incredible faith in our team and has humbled me in his decision.  It is a privilege to lead us into our fourth decade and beyond,” he continued.

“We are fortunate to have someone of Ron’s caliber and experience to take the helm,” said Hagen.  “Ron is a technology visionary with a proven track record of execution. He is a strong communicator who is customer focused.  He has the respect of his team and our industry.  He’s the right man at the right time to keep us moving in the right direction, Hagen concluded.

As a respected industry leader, Naus currently sits on the Landscape Lighting and Testing Procedures for Solid State Lighting committees of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America.  He is a past Director at Large and current Treasurer for the IALD Education Trust.  He also serves on the Lightfair International Exhibitor Advisory Committee.

Mr. Naus is an Affiliate Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers, a voting member of the Lighting Industry Resource Council, and an Associate Member of the IESNA.
