On the very day Radulescu LLP presented its recent LED Industry Webinar on Patent Issues Facing the Lighting Industry, a major decision was handed down by the full International Trade Commission (ITC) in LSG’s second Patent Litigation Campaign. Both LSG’s first and second litigation campaigns were covered in the webinar.
The victory goes to the industry players that fought back against LSG’s claims in the second Litigation Campaign: Acuity, Cree, Eaton (Cooper), GE (Current) Leedarson, Lumileds, MLS, Nichia, OSRAM and Signify.
As discussed during the Webinar LSG’s ITC investigation was split into three investigations directed to the three groups of products: two of which were withdrawn by LSG, one of which went to trial in March 2020. The administrative law judge found no violation of the two remaining asserted patents covering LED chips, and the full ITC affirmed that decision on October 1.
