Oude Meer, the Netherlands, 22 January 2021 – Ushio Deutschland GmbH, a major European production and distribution base of Ushio Inc., has announced that it will merge with its sister company, BLV Licht- und Vakuumtechnik GmbH, to form a new company called Ushio Germany GmbH, on 1 February 2021. The decision to merge was brought in order to ensure consistency by unifying Ushio’s European entities under a common English language naming convention. BLV, a well-known and respected brand within the horticulture industry, will continue to operate independently within the new company.
From 1 February 2021, the five core Ushio Europe group companies will be legally registered as:
Ushio Europe B.V. Ushio Poland Sp. z o.o Ushio Germany GmbH
Ushio France S.A.R.L. Ushio U.K., LTD.
The Ushio Europe group management would like to reiterate that its customers and partners, regardless of region, remain of the highest priority and the name change will not affect any existing or future orders, contracts, or framework contracts, etc. As part of the rebranding process, all invoicing, packaging, and related documentation will switch to the new Ushio Germany GmbH name and related data from 1 February 2021.
As a result, all parties conducting business with Ushio and BLV’s German production and distribution facility should note the following changes to the company name and registration details (highlighted in green):
After the Japanese parent company, Ushio Inc., was incorporated in 1964, European sales operations commenced, in the Netherlands, during the 1980s. Ushio Deutschland GmbH, based in Steinhoering, Bavaria, was subsequently founded on 27 February 1992 and remains home to Ushio’s first European manufacturing facility, almost 30 years later. BLV, which shares the Steinhoering production site, was founded in 1968, before joining the Ushio Group in 1990.
