gner and manufacturer ofspecification-grade lighting solutions for retrofit applications, proudly announces its appointment of Larry Schmidt to the position of President & CEO and Founder Jay Goodman as head of the company’s New Business Development.
A lighting industry veteran with an extensive background in engineering, operations, marketing, and sales, Schmidt has amassed over a quarter-century of executive experience in the industry with such companies as Hubbell Lighting, Hydrant Systems, and Westinghouse Lighting Solutions. In his most previous role as Sales & Marketing Director for LumenOptix, Schmidt oversaw the company’s marketing, branding, PR, corporate communications, and advertising activities while building its powerful network of over 50 specifying agents as well as a full complement of regional managers nationwide.
Schmidt has also been instrumental in helping LumenOptix make sophisticated solutions simple for the marketplace and support the nation’s conversion to more energy-efficient lighting technology. This was recently demonstrated by the introduction of LumenOptix’s successful LED Retrofit Downlight Luminaire (LRD) series, a product line which enables commercial and industrial facilities to upgrade any of their existing downlights within minutes to energy-efficient, maintenance-free LED technology.
A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, Schmidt is an active member of both the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IES) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
