Customers delayed orders of energy efficient lighting systems, pushing Manitowoc-based Orion Energy Systems Inc. to a fourth-quarter loss.
Orion Energy Systems Inc. posted a loss of $8.8 million, or 41 cents a share, reersing a profit of $565,000, or 3 cents a share, in last year’s fourth quarter.
A decline in solar installation projects and customer moves to delay purchase of energy-efficient lighting systems led to a sharp drop in sales, to $12.6 million from $22.3 million last year.
The loss for all of 2014 was $6.2 million, down from $10.4 million the prior year.
