CAD Manager/Sr. Engineer–A.L.P. Lighting Components

A.L.P. Lighting Components is recruiting for a CAD Manager/Sr. Engineer for its manufacturing facility in Charlevoix, MI (outside of Traverse City, MI). 

The CAD Manager/Sr. Engineer will supervise the activities of all CAD programs and will be responsible for managing and developing procedures geared toward the efficiency of project development.  Other duties to include: 

  • Order new hardware and configure and setup when it arrives
  • Maintain CAD inventory
  • Determine root cause analysis and testing activities
  • Interact on project standards with clients
  • Creation and refinement of technical mechanical part and assembly drawings to capture design intent
  • Provide production CAD support
  • Develop, implement and enforce CAD standards
  • Supply technical support for all CAD software
  • Develop training budget and train in house CAD users
  • Maintain CAD document archive and retrieval for projects

This position may require up to 10% travel.

Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Plastics Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology or similar with a minimum of 4 years work experience and strong, formal IT training. Proficiency in Autodesk products, MS Office suite is required for this position. Proficiency is required in development of concepts, scheduling, budgeting, generating bill of material, quoting, component purchasing, implementation into a manufacturing environment and interfacing with both internal and external customers.  Project management experience is desired.  For consideration, please email resume to [email protected].
