Robert Soler and Erica Voss of BIOS Lighting recently wrote a great paper on the effect modern day electrical lighting has on the human circadian rhythm. The paper goes into detail of how the current implementation of electrical lighting disrupts our circadian rhythm, and how we can go about improving the standards for indoor lighting that will contribute to biologically relevant lighting. The issue is that we need brighter days and darker nights when it comes to how indoor spaces are lit during different times of the day. LED technology and controls will play a crucial role in being able to solve this problem. The paper provides a lot of information on this subject and can be read in full here.
