MT. PROSPECT, Ill., June 14, 2022 – Good Earth Lighting Inc, a leading supplier of residential LED lighting, is celebrating 30 years of energy efficiency in 2022. Since 1992 when Marvin Feig and co-founder Alex Kowalenko started the company, Good Earth has produced millions of indoor and outdoor lighting fixtures that are environmentally friendly, customizable, and cost efficient.

Today Feig announced a change in the corporate structure of Good Earth: He has sold the company to his executive team, a group of four industry veterans who each have 30+ years’ experience with global brands in the lighting, retail, and hardware industries.

The new ownership group consists of Brian Coleman, VP of Marketing & Product Development, Greg Forrest, VP of Sales, Chris Serak, VP of Engineering and Global Operations, and T.R. Turner, Chief Financial Officer. Feig and Kowalenko will both remain at the company with Feig continuing to serve as president.

“These four guys all joined Good Earth in the last 10 years and in that time have helped double the size of our business,” said Feig. “They are a dream team, and I am proud to be part of a dynamic, progressive group that not only understands this industry but sees incredible opportunity for the future.”

In 1992 Feig had a vision of changing an industry dependent upon incandescent lighting to a much more energy-efficient compact fluorescent technology. Good Earth was born in Kowalenko’s basement and the company sold their first light fixture to True Value Hardware. When LED technology became available, Good Earth quickly converted and set the industry course for energy-efficient residential lighting products.

The company has an award-winning history: Good Earth has earned seven EPA Energy Star awards for initiatives and advancement toward energy-efficient lighting fixtures, product education, and training time. The company won the 2017 Lighting for Tomorrow product award and, in 2016, partnered with 3M to launch the first line of USB battery-operated and rechargeable products with damage-free CommandTM Strips from 3M. Most recently, Good Earth was both the winner and runner-up of the 2021 Integrated Home Competition for Good Earth’s smart app that powers a full line of lighting operated by smartphone.
