The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education Announces Annual Grants and Awards Submission Deadline for 2024

[Garrison, NewYork] – The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education is once again proud to announce the opening of submissions for its esteemed annual grants and awards program. Dedicated to the advancement of education in the field of lighting, the Fund provides financial support to academic institutions in North America and recognizes exceptional students in lighting studies.

Key Grant Opportunities and Awards for 2024:

  • The Nuckolls Fund Grant ($30,000): Since 1989, this grant has supported the development and implementation of innovative lighting courses at the college level.
  • Lesley Wheel Introductory Lighting Program Grant ($30,000 over 4 years): Aimed at academic programs in architecture, engineering, technology, and interior design that currently have minimal or no lighting offerings but are looking to introduce them.
  • The Edison Price Fellowship Grant ($20,000): Enables a lighting educator to gain industry experience by working with a manufacturing or design firm, or to collaborate with an established professor at a university with a robust lighting program.

In addition to the grants, four academic awards are presented yearly to students who have shown outstanding achievement in lighting studies. These students are nominated by their faculty, reflecting the excellence and dedication that the Nuckolls Fund encourages.

Submission Information:

The Nuckolls Fund is now accepting grant proposals from educators at academic institutions in North America. Interested applicants can find detailed descriptions and criteria for each grant in the respective Request for Proposal (RFP) available for download on the Fund’s website.

Submissions are due by January 8, 2024.

The Fund would also like to remind applicants of the Milham Catalyst Grant, a special offering provided every ten years. The next opportunity for this unique grant will be in 2030.
