Atomi Requests 3rd Extension as they Settle with Signify in Principle
In November, your humble editor penned an article about how most companies settle with Signify. In the article, we referenced Atomi and their second request for an extension. They have now asked the court for a third extension as they have “agreed in principle” to a settlement.
In a letter to the Honorable John P. Cronan, Samuel J. Bazian, the attorney for Atomi, requests a third extension of Atomi’s deadline to respond to the Complaint.
This example underscores the reality that most companies find it more practical to settle with Signify. By doing so, businesses can avoid the financial costs of legal disputes while ensuring compliance with IP regulations. Signify offers two options in its EnabLED program: the standard approach and the flat rate approach. Today, almost all licensing is with the flat rate approach.
