Enlighted, A Siemens Company, to Wind Down Lighting and IoT Business by End of Fiscal Year
Enlighted, a Siemens company known for its smart lighting and IoT solutions, will phase out its core lighting and value-added IoT business by the end of this fiscal year. Siemens will retain Enlighted Connect, a separate platform that aligns with its broader building software strategy.
The decision reflects a shift in focus at Siemens Buildings as it reassesses areas where growth has fallen short.
“At Siemens Buildings, we’ve seen solid performance over the past five years,” said a spokesperson for Enlighted. “But to improve our competitive position, we’ve had to make tough choices. That includes exiting parts of the business where growth hasn’t met expectations.”
The ramp down will affect Enlighted’s core offerings. These include advanced sensors, lighting controls, and data-driven workplace tools that helped define the company’s role in the smart building space.
Despite this change, Siemens is keeping Enlighted Connect, which operates independently of the lighting division. The spokesperson added, “Connect has clear synergies with our building software portfolio. “
Enlighted also confirmed that it will support current customers throughout the transition. “We will continue to honor our obligations to customers to the best of our ability,” the company stated.
This move follows a broader trend in the industry. Companies are narrowing their focus to meet shifting market demands and rising expectations for profitability.

No exact end date has been given, but the phaseout is expected to conclude by the close of Siemens’s fiscal year. The Enlighted website is still active and makes no mention of the impending closure on their News Page.
