The American Lighting Association (ALA) has named Jon Melchi as its new President and CEO, following an extensive search conducted by the ALA Executive Search Committee. Melchi brings over two decades of experience in association leadership, public policy, and business development. He most recently served as executive director of the Building Industry Association of Central Ohio, where he led initiatives that modernized operations, expanded membership, and increased both revenue and policy influence. His career also includes a tenure at HARDI, where he spearheaded successful advocacy campaigns and built strong government relations.
Melchi’s appointment marks a new chapter for ALA following the retirement of former President and CEO Larry Lauck and interim leadership by Laurie Gross. Gross will continue working with Melchi during the transition. ALA members can meet Jon at June Lightovation in Dallas, with a welcome reception scheduled for Wednesday, June 18, at 1 p.m. in the fourth-floor atrium near the Minka Showroom. With his strategic vision and industry expertise, Melchi is poised to lead the ALA into a period of growth, innovation, and renewed member engagement.
