Headquartered in a state-of-the-art, award-winning showroom in the heart of Chicago, at 215 W Chicago Ave., Chicago, IL, 60654, Lightology has become a premier resource for lighting education, inspiration, and specification. Developed by Flos in 2021, this collaborative retail approach offers a more tailored and comprehensive shopping experience for customers by exhibiting the brand’s decorative, architectural, and outdoor collections in one dedicated space.
Flos Design Spaces are minimalistic in approach yet have a theatrical flair, drawing customers into the brand’s philosophy and enduring designs. A palette of rough concrete, milled wood, black calamine iron, and dark grey plaster allows for layered lighting effects and flexible modular display solutions offer infinite configurations that mirror true living environments so shoppers can visualize what a piece might look like in their own homes.
On display at Lightology are Flos’ new SuperWire table lamp by Formafantasma, classics such as Taccia and Snoopy lamps by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, and Noctambule by Konstantin Grcic
For the Flos Design Space launch at Lightology, the brand exhibits a selection of its celebrated classics including the Taccia and Snoopy table lamps by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni and contemporary icons such as IC Lights by Michael Anastassiades, Noctambule by Konstantin Grcic, and Céramique by Ronan Bouroullec.
The display also integrates the newest SuperWire Table lamp by Simone Farresin and Andrea Trimarchi of FormaFantasma. SuperWire is a family of sophisticated modular lamps that combine a poetic aesthetic with a commitment to the environment. It features planar glass hexagons and thin LED filaments custom-developed by Flos, that can be easily removed for replacement and repair by the user.
