Cree Lighting Announces Three-Week Furlough at Racine Facility

At approximately 10:00 a.m. CST today, Cree Lighting held a business-update meeting for employees at its Racine, WI facility, convening at the receiving dock. Staff were informed that, effective 11:00 a.m., a three-week furlough would begin and all operations would pause immediately, impacting both manufacturing and office employees.

Two sources on site said employees were given 30 minutes to vacate the building.

According to those familiar with the decision, the furlough was authorized by Sabu Krishnan, CEO and President of ADLT.

We received the following statement this afternoon from a company spokesperson:  Cree Lighting has temporarily paused non-critical operations for a brief period. This is a planned, short-term measure, and we expect to resume normal business activities later this month. We remain committed to serving our customers and partners. At this time, we do not have additional details to share. For additional information, please contact ADLT.
