At NYControlled 2025, Randy Reid spoke with Martin Mercier, Marketing Manager for IoT Connected Systems at Cooper Lighting, about the company’s latest innovations in lighting control technology.

ILC EVO Lite – Room Controller

Mercier highlighted the new ILC EVO Lite – Room Controller, designed to simplify installation and programming for electrical contractors. The system uses simple program buttons and standard components like sensors, wall stations, and power packs, allowing contractors to efficiently achieve energy compliance and savings.

WaveLinx Emergency Lighting

Mercier also discussed WaveLinx, Cooper Lighting’s native control brand, now enhanced to include emergency lighting functionality (WaveLinx EM). The system integrates Bluetooth, ZigBee, and CAT5 cable solutions, supporting both ambient fixtures and emergency lighting in a hybrid setup, with wired and wireless devices.

WaveLinx EM provides a failsafe mechanism, automatically switching fixtures to emergency mode if power is lost. The system offers flexibility through power packs or integrated sensors, ensuring energy savings, code compliance, and aesthetically pleasing design without traditional bulky emergency fixtures.

Availability and Future Updates

Both the ILC EVO Lite room controller and WaveLinx EM for emergency lighting are currently on the market. Cooper Lighting plans to expand offerings in early 2026 with DALI-2 devices.
