At NYControlled 2025, Randy Reid spoke with Shana Longo of Legrand about the Wattstopper i3 platform, a cloud-based smart building solution designed to unlock the valuable data inherent in lighting control systems. The i3 name represents the three core principles of the platform: interoperability, insights, and intelligence. Flexible Installation and Legacy System Integration
Designed for both new and existing buildings, the Wattstopper i3 platform uses BACnet and cloud-based software to centralize data. Shana noted that it can integrate with legacy lighting systems, making it easier for facilities to upgrade portions of a building without replacing everything. Managers can access real-time reports, visualizations, and schedules directly from the platform.
