Cooper Lighting Solutions Acquires Nemalux

Cooper Lighting Solutions Expands Industrial Lighting Offerings

In a decisive expansion move, Cooper Lighting Solutions, operating under Signify, has completed the acquisition of Nemalux, a Calgary-based manufacturer of rugged LED lighting systems for harsh industrial environments. Founded in 2003, Nemalux has built a strong reputation for delivering certified hazardous-location lighting for industries including oil & gas, chemical processing, mining, and manufacturing.

Expanding Footprint Across North America

In acquiring Nemalux, Cooper Lighting Solutions expands its footprint across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Additionally, Nemalux’s Canadian manufacturing base and headquarters will remain, ensuring continuity of operations and ongoing product support.

Leadership Perspective on the Acquisition

Kraig Kasler, President of Cooper Lighting Solutions, stated,

“This acquisition directly supports our strategy to expand our industrial lighting portfolio. By combining Nemalux’s specialized solutions with Cooper Lighting Solutions’ commercialization and channel expertise, we’re unlocking new opportunities to deliver high-performance, energy-efficient LED lighting solutions to our customers across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.”

Mission-Critical Industrial Lighting Solutions

In addition to expanding market reach, Nemalux’s solutions are engineered for environments where fixtures must endure extreme conditions and meet stringent certification standards—areas where lighting durability and reliability are mission-critical. Consequently, the acquisition provides Nemalux immediate access to Cooper’s broader agent network and high-volume channels, accelerating its presence in previously underrepresented markets.

Industry Insight

Looking ahead, René Pollard of Noble Venture Partners, which recently acquired industrial lighting company LumEfficient, commented,

“There’s a lot of interest in heavy industrial and hazardous location lighting right now. It will be interesting to see whether Cooper Lighting Solutions keeps the Nemalux reps or transitions everything to its own Cooper Lighting network.”

Positioning for Energy-Efficient, Compliant Lighting

As industrial sectors pursue energy-efficient lighting upgrades and stricter safety compliance, this acquisition positions Cooper Lighting Solutions to better serve industrial clients with comprehensive, high-performance lighting solutionsdesigned for the most demanding applications.
