Halco Lighting Technologies Acquires Topaz

Halco Lighting Technologies Acquires Topaz Permanent Lighting Business from Southwire

Halco Lighting Technologies has announced the acquisition of the Topaz permanent lighting business from Southwire Company, LLC, further expanding its national footprint and product portfolio.

In a statement to EdisonReport, Nathan McLeod, Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) stated, “We’re extremely excited to welcome Topaz into the Halco family. Topaz is a strong, well-respected brand with a great history. This acquisition allows us to build on that foundation, drive continued growth, and expand our product offering while strengthening our presence in the markets we serve, ultimately enhancing our ability to support customers with broader solutions, improved service, and long-term value.”

The Halco–Topaz acquisition was announced on 22 December. The deal brings Topaz Permanent Lighting Solutions into Halco’s growing portfolio of energy-efficient lighting products. According to the company, the acquisition expands Halco’s reach across more applications and improves customer service nationwide.

Background on Topaz and Southwire

Topaz has undergone ownership changes in recent years. Previously, Southwire acquired Topaz as part of its strategy to expand beyond wire and cable into complementary electrical and lighting categories.

Under Southwire’s ownership, Topaz continued to operate as a permanent lighting brand, supporting residential and commercial applications while leveraging Southwire’s distribution and operational scale. Now, with the Halco Topaz acquisition, the permanent lighting business transitions to a company more singularly focused on lighting technologies.

As a result, Topaz’s permanent lighting portfolio will align closely with Halco’s core lighting expertise and long-term product strategy.

Strategic Expansion for Halco

Based in Norcross, Georgia, Halco Lighting Technologies has built its reputation around performance-driven, sustainable lighting solutions. With the Halco Topaz acquisition, the company aims to serve a broader range of residential, commercial, and industrial customers.

The combined brands will offer an expanded portfolio designed to meet diverse project requirements. At the same time, Halco emphasized continuity in quality, performance, and customer support.

Halco expects the acquisition to expand its geographic footprint significantly, improving service levels and enabling faster delivery across the continental United States.

Combined Experience and Industry Impact

Halco and Topaz bring more than 100 years of combined experience in the lighting industry. Consequently, the integration is positioned to support ongoing innovation while maintaining a strong focus on reliability and sustainability.

The Halco Topaz acquisition also reflects broader industry trends toward consolidation and specialization. Lighting manufacturers are increasingly seeking scale while sharpening focus on core product categories.

In a statement announcing the deal, Halco’s CEO, Chris Chickonsky, described the acquisition as a milestone for the company’s growth strategy. “This acquisition marks an exciting chapter for Halco Lighting Technologies,” the CEO said. “By bringing Topaz Permanent Lighting Solutions into our portfolio, we’re expanding both our product offering and our footprint, supporting our mission of delivering unmatched value and service to customers nationwide.”

Looking Ahead

While financial terms were not disclosed, the Halco Topaz acquisition signals continued momentum in the lighting industry’s M&A landscape. Moreover, it highlights how permanent lighting solutions remain a strategic growth area.

As the transition progresses, industry stakeholders will be watching how Halco integrates Topaz’s permanent lighting business into its broader portfolio.
