A Scheduling Conflict Worth Watching: LEDucation and Euroluce Go Head-to-Head in April 2027
Every other year, your humble editor makes the trek to Milan to cover Euroluce. It is Italy’s premier biennial lighting exhibition, held within Salone del Mobile.Milano. It is always a great show. I often manage a bit of personal travel with Lori on the front or back end — or both!
2027 will be considerably more difficult.
Here is the problem. LEDucation runs April 13–15, 2027 in its new 3-day format. Euroluce 2027 opens the same day — 13 April — and runs through 18 April. These are two lighting events that belong on every serious international practitioner’s 2027 calendar. They now open on the exact same day. One is in New York City. One is in Milan.

It gets worse. Our Lifetime Achievement Awards take place the evening of April 12 in New York. That is the night before both shows open on opposite sides of the Atlantic.
The stakes are real. LEDucation attracts more than 10,000 registrants. It is the most important lighting trade show and conference in North America. Euroluce is growing in importance too. Our industry is shifting focus — away from efficiency metrics and toward light quality, human-centric design, and architectural innovation. Euroluce leads that conversation.
The conflict puts designers, manufacturers, and non-profits in a tough spot. Many have a presence at both shows. Do you stay in New York or fly to Milan — or both?
