Here are the stories making news, coming to you from Phoenix at the NALMCO Convention.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of presenting an NLB Transformation Award of Excellence to Northwest Edison for their retrofit of the Jim Thorpe Fieldhouse. It was a very challenging retrofit — going from about 20 footcandles to 125 for TV audiences, using Meteor fixtures and Lutron Vive controls. Also, Ryan Avery was the keynote speaker. The title was clever: “Why be a when you can be the?” It was very well received.
The October 2026 issue of LM&M explores the next wave of LED retrofits, NALMCO’s annual convention, connected lighting, circadian applications, and emerging opportunities for lighting maintenance professionals as technology and industry demands evolve. Visit EdisonReport.com to read.
NorthEast Electrical, a Sonepar company, awarded seven $1,000 scholarships and six $500 tool grants to graduating New England high school students, recognizing their commitment to inclusion and supporting future careers in the skilled trades. Good for them.
Yesterday the markets were mixed. Dialight gained 10 British pounds.
