EdisonReport has learned that Cooper Lighting Solutions is announcing layoffs today due to softness in the market. One source explained that these layoffs are being implemented across the company, but the company is careful to protect customer-critical roles. We are told that the layoffs will be approximately 2% of the worldwide workforce.
We hope to receive an official statement late today or early tomorrow.
updated 3:56 p.m. E.S.T.–We received a statement from Kraig Kasler, President, Cooper Lighting Solutions:
“As the lighting industry continues to evolve in these unprecedented times, Cooper Lighting Solutions remains committed to leading the way by delivering products that have compelling value propositions. To remain competitive and manage costs we have decided to reduce our headcount by approximately 100 employees across regions, roles and functions. This decision has not been taken lightly. The employees impacted by these actions have been treated with dignity and respect and are eligible for separation benefits and outplacement resources to assist them in transitioning forward. We are committed to serving our customers in a seamless manner and will continue to work towards providing them with innovative products.”
