ALP Sold to Inteplast

Inteplast Group acquires ALP

Inteplast Group Acquires ALP

Inteplast Group acquires ALP bringing new financial and manufacturing resources to the longtime lighting supplier following more than 70 years of family ownership. Announced on 4 November 2026, the acquisition positions ALP to expand its optical molding capabilities while continuing to serve lighting OEMs.

Formerly known as A.L.P., the business will operate as ALP Lighting Components LLC within Inteplast’s Sustainable Packaging & Printing Solutions Division. The acquisition also brings ALP’s specialized optical molding expertise and established manufacturing operations in Mexico into Inteplast’s portfolio.

New Resources, Familiar Leadership

For lighting manufacturers, the immediate message is continuity. ALP’s existing manufacturing facilities, customer service personnel, and technical teams will remain in place. Adam Mayse will continue as President and Chief Operating Officer, while Bill Brown Sales will retain its role as ALP’s sales representative.

Steve Brown, CEO, described the decision as a way to preserve the company’s strengths while providing resources for its next chapter.

“After more than 70 years of family ownership, we wanted a partner that understood the value of what we’ve built and could position ALP for long-term success,” Steve said. “Inteplast brings the financial strength and manufacturing expertise to support that growth.”

Steve will also support the company’s continued growth in the lighting industry.

Optical Molding Growth Supports Lighting OEMs

Although the acquisition creates opportunities to enter additional markets, ALP says lighting remains a core focus. Expansion into other applications is intended to support further investment in technologies and manufacturing capabilities that also benefit lighting customers.

That connection matters. For an OEM, a supplier’s broader market reach can create opportunities for investment, provided the engineering support and manufacturing capabilities it depends on remain accessible. ALP’s announcement emphasizes both those priorities.

“For lighting OEMs, this means dependable access to the engineering expertise, specialized manufacturing capabilities, and technical support they rely on, backed by greater resources for future growth,” Adam said. “We’re well positioned to build on those strengths and deepen our service to the lighting industry.”

Founded in 1991 in Lolita, Texas, Inteplast is a privately held plastics and paper manufacturer with more than 10,000 employees and over 100 facilities worldwide. That scale gives ALP a substantially larger manufacturing organization behind its operations.

A Small Change With a Long History

Your humble editor knew the late Bill Brown well, and Mr. B was particular about those periods in A.L.P. As he explained it, the punctuation helped secure an earlier position in the Yellow Pages than ALP would have received. Yes, remembering a business strategy built around the Yellow Pages probably reveals more about your editor’s age than he intended.

The new company name drops the periods. More consequential, however, is what comes next: how ALP uses its additional resources to strengthen optical molding, support lighting manufacturers, and develop new markets.

For now, customers can expect familiar leadership and teams, with a larger manufacturing parent supporting the business.
