DMF Lighting Announces the Winners of the 2021 DMF Design Awards

Rachel Levy Designs Awarded Grand Prize and Four Runners-Up Earn DMF Products Valued at $1,000

CARSON, Calif. — Sept. 15, 2021DMF Lighting, the leader in modular downlighting in the custom home integration channel, announced today the winners of the 2021 DMF Design Awards. The inaugural DMF Design Award grand prize of $5,000 in cash and a co-branded advertisement in the summer issue of Technology Designer magazine went to Rachel Levy Designs in Atlanta, Georgia, for their lighting work at Politan Row entered and chosen as the Best Commercial Lighting Application. Judges were impressed with the creative use of layered lighting to address the unique needs of the space.

The entry categories included Best Residential Application, Best Commercial Application, Best Installation Incorporating DCC Cylinder, Best Use of DMF Lighting for Accent or Task Lighting Applications and Best Use of Multiple DMF Lighting Products. Each of the runners-up, winners of the additional four categories, earn DMF products worth $1,000. The four runners-up are:

  • The Best Residential Lighting Application award went to Illuminated Design of Naples, Florida, for the Pelican Bay Residence.
  • The Best Accent and/or Task Lighting Application award went to Colina West of Austin, Texas, for the Simi Estiatorio.
  • The Best DCC Cylinder Application award went to Service Tech of Austin, Texas, for the Britt Design Group.
  • The Best Multiple DMF Products Application award went to Premium Digital Control & Automation of Sunny Isles, Florida, for the Ritz-Carlton Residences.

The contest entries were judged by an esteemed panel of experts from the design-build and lighting design communities: Richard Christensen, Magleby Construction Vice President of Estate Homes; Mark Danesh, DMF Lighting Founder and President; Anne Kustner Haser, AKLD Lighting Design President; and Kami Rezai, HiTech Design Founder and President.
