A Familiar Face in the Lighting Community Takes the Helm at SGM
SGM Lighting has appointed Jesse Lilley as its new Managing Director, overseeing operations from the company’s headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark. The move signals a new chapter for SGM as it continues blending Danish innovation with the advanced engineering and production strength of its parent company, Golden Sea.
In his new role, Jesse will lead all business and manufacturing operations. He will focus on operational excellence, product quality, and long-term strategy while enhancing collaboration between SGM and Golden Sea. His leadership will help align creativity and technology across both the architectural and entertainment lighting markets.
A Career Built on Experience
Jesse brings more than two decades of experience in professional lighting. He previously held senior roles at Lumenpulse and across the LMPG Group, where he helped define brand strategy and guide global expansion.
Gary Dulanski of the Dulanski Group commented:
“We happily welcome Jesse Lilly as the new Managing Director of SGM Lighting, and look forward to his guidance of SGM’s outstanding product design and development as they further mesh with Golden Sea’s tremendous engineering and production capabilities.”
Known for his ability to link strategy, design, and execution, Jesse has led teams on several continents. His international experience gives him a unique understanding of how to combine creative thinking with practical results.
“The lighting industry is undergoing real transformation—and that’s where opportunity lies,” said Jesse Lilley. “SGM’s Danish roots give us creativity and design integrity, while Golden Sea’s engineering provides the precision to innovate faster.”

EdisonReport’s Perspective: Proven Leadership
At EdisonReport, we know Jesse personally and have witnessed his leadership in action. In November 2023, he participated in our Happy Circadian Hour event in London—co-hosted by designing lighting global (dlg) and held at Atrium LTD. The evening drew more than one hundred lighting professionals eager to explore how light affects circadian rhythms.
After a captivating presentation by Dr. Shelley James, Jesse joined a panel with Ulysse Dormoy of Atrium LTD and designer Colin Ball. His insights connected the science of circadian lighting to its practical application in design and manufacturing. The audience responded strongly to his clear, informed approach.
Because of that event, we saw firsthand how Jesse balances design vision with strategic understanding. He connects people, ideas, and business goals—skills that will serve him well as he guides SGM Lighting into its next phase.
Looking Ahead
“His international experience, proven brand leadership, and deep understanding of both markets make him ideally suited to guide SGM through its next chapter of growth,” said Chris Agius Ferrante, VP of Golden Sea.
With Jesse at the helm, SGM is poised to reaffirm its place as a leader in high-performance, design-driven lighting solutions. The company’s excellence offers a powerful foundation for future success.
Congratulation to SGM and to Jesse.
