Most landscape fixtures are fixed once the installer leaves. Changing the beam means a ladder, a different lens or a return visit. Dauer Manufacturing’s new Morpheus, introduced today at Equip Expo, is built to skip all of that.
Morpheus uses a patent-pending liquid crystal lens to reshape and redirect its beam electronically. It has no motors, no moving optics and no interchangeable lenses. Everything is adjusted from the Dauer Smart App, without touching the fixture.

One fixture, a wide range of looks
From the app, users can take the beam from a tight 16-degree spot to a 70-degree flood. They can also stretch it vertically, widen it horizontally and shift it across two axes, with dimming on top. Dauer says that adds up to more than 10,000 possible combinations, enough for one fixture to do what has traditionally taken several fixture types and optics.
Light that moves
Morpheus also introduces Dauer’s Kinetic Lighting Effect (KLE). It links saved lighting positions into a sequence and moves between them gradually at a chosen speed. Dauer’s examples are light drifting across a wall, moonlight moving through tree branches and illumination that subtly shifts around a focal point.
Built for how installations change
Trees grow, properties change and clients change their minds. Because Morpheus can be re-aimed and reshaped from the app, a lighting adjustment no longer has to mean a return visit. Dauer’s Craig Klomparens said the fixture “grew from those conversations” with distributors and contractors, aimed at reducing “ladder work, physical fixture adjustments and return visits.”
Joaquin “Kino” Obeso, Dauer’s co-founder and vice president, framed it as a business tool as well. He said it gives contractors new opportunities for service and profit.
What the app does

- Create named scenes and save cloud-based presets
- Schedule operation around sunrise and sunset
- Set up geofenced routines
- Share project access
- Review fixture health and diagnostics
- Receive over-the-air firmware updates after installation
Specs
- Available in uplight and downlight configurations
- 26 W integrated LED, up to 2,289 lumens
- 2700K and 3000K, CRI 85+
- Cast brass with a weathered-brass finish
- UL-listed for wet locations, IP65
- 10-year limited warranty
