Signify Files 3rd Patent Suit in 3 Months

Update 4:18 pm, 26 JUL 2022: Henrik Villumsen has provided information that prior to the US complaint, Signify filed several patent infringement complaints against Eglo in Dusseldorf, Germany. All are still pending, including an appeal brought by Signify.

Fresh off their patent victory last week in Europe, Signify’s patent machine is in full force.  Also considering last week’s announcement where it appears Signify is consolidating potential asbestos liabilities into Strand, and bankrupting Strand, it makes me wonder if Signify isn’t really a law firm that happens to have manufacturing capabilities!

On 25 JUL 2022, Signify filed suit against EGLO Leuchten GMBH and EGLO Hong Kong Lighting LTD for patent infringement.

The suit quotes the EGLO website:  “EGLO World-Wide” that states “If you want to conquer the world, you need to be everywhere” and further states “[o]ur factories in Hungary, China and India produce products to inspire our customers. In order to make this possible, our trend scouts around the world are looking for new ideas.”

Signify asserts the following patents have been infringed:

7,182,480
System and Method for Manipulating Illumination Created by an Array of Light Emitting Devices
7,256,554
LED Power Control Methods and Apparatus
7,737,643

Signify #EnabLED Licensing Program, Breaking News: #Signify files its 3rd patent suit in just as many months. #EGLO Lighting, with sales in 50+ countries, sued yesterday in Texas on 9 US patents for products sold into #HomeDepot, #Lowes, #Target, #Walmart, etc. #Govee(#ShenzhenIntellirocks) sued earlier this month on 5 patents for products sold into #BestBuy, #Walmart, #Amazon etc. Neither target has litigated or has brick-and-mortor operations in the US.
