On 3 MAR, after we posted a press release from Light + Building we wrote our friends at Messe Frankfurt asking them if they planned to continue sponsoring Interlight, which was scheduled to be held in Moscow on 19 SEP 2022. Today we received a response from Messe that on 2 MAR, they suspended all events in Russia, including Interlight. We commend Messe for taking this action.
Here is the letter we received:
Hello Reid,
Thank you for publishing our Light + Building press release.
We are also very shocked by Putin’s attack on Ukraine. It is unimaginable what is happening there.
Messe Frankfurt decided last Tuesday to suspend all business activities with the Russian market. In this respect, all events in Russia will be suspended. Here you can find a short press release:

Of course, this also applies to Interlight Russia.
For trade fairs taking place in the second half of 2022 or 2023, Russian exhibitors will initially not receive a placement offer. Depending on how the situation develops, Messe Frankfurt will decide on possible changes to the current decision.
We have also suspended our visitor marketing and ticket sales to Russian visitors until further notice.
We also hope very much that the situation will improve and that we will be able to meet under more peaceful circumstances at Light + Building in autumn.
