In response to the market dynamics in the lighting industry, Signify plans to cease manufacturing at its facility in Tupelo, Mississippi. The company will gradually transition the production of its DayBrite and Chloride professional indoor lighting solutions to its facilities in San Marcos, Texas and Monterrey, Mexico through the end of Q3 2021. The transition includes some indoor lighting Research & Development (R&D).
These changes will enable Signify to realize synergies between its manufacturing sites and new product development, to improve efficiency and better serve its customers. Sales, marketing and IT teams as well as key R&D competencies will continue to operate out of Tupelo.
The decision has not been taken lightly but is necessary with the ongoing transformation in the lighting industry. Signify will support its affected employees through the transition, and provide resources and training to assist them through this difficult period and set them up for future success.
Signify, the global leader in lighting, remains committed to the market, and will continue to drive innovation and leverage the breadth of its operations to best serve its customers.
