Signify and Keystone Technologies Request Extension to Finalize Settlement
Signify Holding B.V. and Keystone Technologies, LLC have jointly requested a two-week extension to finalize their settlement in an ongoing intellectual property dispute. The United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania had scheduled a Rule 16 conference for 21 March 2025. However, both companies have asked to move it to 4 April 2025, allowing more time to resolve outstanding terms.
Case Background
Signify, a global leader in lighting technology, sued Keystone Technologies, alleging patent infringement. The case, Civil Action No. 2:24-cv-06761-CFK, has been in litigation for months. On 20 February 2025, both parties reached a preliminary agreement to resolve the dispute.
Recognizing the complexity of finalizing the agreement, the court issued an Amended Order on 27 February 2025. This order paused all deadlines and set the second Rule 16 conference for March 21. Now, Signify and Keystone are requesting a brief extension to complete the final negotiations.
Why the Extension?
Both companies believe more time is necessary to finalize unresolved terms. They argue that a short delay will help conserve judicial resources while ensuring a comprehensive resolution.
Additionally, they have asked the court to extend the stay until the new conference date, on all deadlines. This extension would allow both sides to complete negotiations without further litigation if granted.

Leading law firms are representing both companies in this case:
- Signify Holding B.V. is working with Stapleton Segal Cochran LLC and Alston & Bird LLP, with attorneys John S. Stapleton, Eli Segal, Adam Swain, Christopher McArdle, Ravi Shah, and Joshua Weeks handling the case.
- Keystone Technologies, LLC is represented by Duane Morris LLP, including attorneys Timothy R. Shannon, Seth S. Coburn, Poornarchita H. Dwarakanath, Alice E. Snedeker, Christopher Ricciuti, and Richard Hughes.
What’s Next?
The court has not yet ruled on the motion. If approved, the Rule 16 conference will be rescheduled for April 4, 2025, or another date that fits the court’s schedule.
