Rexel Reports Sixth Straight Quarter of Growth, Driven by North America

Rexel Reports Sixth Straight Quarter of Growth

North American Strength Powers Rexel to 3.0% Sales Growth; Full-Year Guidance Maintained at High Profitability

Rexel reported third-quarter sales of €4.75 billion, a 3.0% increase on a same-day basis, marking the distributor’s sixth consecutive quarter of sequential growth. Gains were led by strong results in North America and improving trends in Europe, with Asia-Pacific showing modest recovery.

The company reaffirmed its 2025 outlook, projecting slightly positive full-year sales growth while maintaining profitability and cash flow targets.

North America Leads the Way

North American sales grew 7.4% on a same-day basis, driven by continued strength in datacenter and broadband projects, which accounted for more than half of regional growth. Rexel expanded its datacenter footprint with a new distribution centre in Reno, Nevada, and extended its Talley brand into Canada.

“Our past strategic initiatives are paying off,” said CEO Guillaume Texier. “The sequential improvement seen in Europe and Asia-Pacific demonstrates the strength, resilience, and agility of the new Rexel.”

Texier noted that Rexel’s datacenter business, launched three years ago, now represents about 5% of U.S. sales and grew more than 50% year-to-date.

Mixed Results in Europe and Asia-Pacific

In Europe, same-day sales slipped 0.5%, though trends improved throughout the quarter. France led the region with 3.8% growth, followed by the Benelux at 3.5%. The DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) remained slightly negative, while the UK & Ireland and Nordics fell 10.1% and 9.2%, respectively.

Asia-Pacific declined 0.5%, as strong growth in India (+26.1%) offset weaker performances in China (-4.1%) and Australia (-0.9%).

Strategic Progress

Digital sales increased to 33% of total group revenue, up 136 basis points year over year. The company continued executing its Axelerate 2028 strategy, emphasising AI-driven efficiency, portfolio discipline, and high-growth sectors.

During Q3, Rexel completed the sale of its Finnish operations to Ahlsell, issued a €400 million senior note due 2030, and allocated €50 million to share buybacks.

Outlook

Rexel maintained its guidance for 2025:

  • Slightly positive same-day sales growth versus 2024

  • Adjusted EBITA margin of around 6%

  • Free cash flow conversion near 65% (excluding a one-time regulatory fine)

Texier concluded, “As we continue to execute our Axelerate 2028 roadmap, we’re delivering on our commitments—combining operational excellence with strategic investment in high-growth areas.”

Rexel will present further updates at the Rexel Expo in Paris on 16 October, highlighting initiatives driving its mid-term goals.
